How often do any of you wear jackets and pants/skirts that don't match up in color?
For example, a black suit jacket with a grey skirt or vice versa?

Do you always make it a point to match or do you mix it up every once in a while?

Also, for any of you who have worked at a firm, have you ever noticed this kind of style before?

[Oh and I think this question is geared towards the women of this group, since I know we have a little more flexibility where this is concerned, but if any guys here have seen women pull off this kind of look i'd love to know!]

I saw this community on the lawstudents community and think it's a fabulous idea!

I was wondering if anyone knew a good place to get vests for women. I love the suits with a matching vest.

[picture these in BLACK]

i'm told that a double breasted suit may not be appropriate for an interview,
but as general business attire, what do you think?

Okay, so here is my first post here.

A little about me:

I'm a certified law student who interns at a Bay Area public defender's office. I go to court once a week and represent clients at misdemeanor pre-trial conferences. The Bay Area is a little more liberal dress code than other parts of the country (or so I hear). I don't have to wear my hair up and I can wear pant suits to my heart's content. (This is not so in some jurisdictions).

Anywho, here's the suit I wore on Wednesday:

I got it at Ann Taylor a few weeks ago. I really like the color, but not a huge fan of the military inspired jacket. Also, I tend to shy away all things belted, but this one was alright. The shoes totally killed my feet. I have to remember to wear more comfortable shoes on court days.
